Pandemics...

Well, I saw the headline - H1N1 is now considered a pandemic... I guess it is actually a good example of a pandemic (if it is really that widespread now - I haven't really followed it the last few days). Maybe people will better understand that pandemics do occur and do not always wipe out everyone on the face of the earth... which is unfortunately how the media chooses to portray it to get us to tune in... My point of course is that all pandemic really means is that the disease is widespread - pan meaning world - so spread around the world.

I guess it is time to check back in the news (or better at the cdc website) to see what the numbers look like at this point. I bet they have some fun new maps to look at!
